Charming, vibrant, colourful, unique, enchanting, untroubled and unruffled - you can choose your adjectives, but they won’t truly do this pearl of a fishing village justice.This book is being written because this community - which is far wider than Bang Saray’s boundaries - deserves a photographic and textual song of praise.

So what is the book going to be about?
The village of Bang Saray is the hero and the focus of both photographs and text
Bang Saray and its immediate surroundings is the bubble that the book will focus on. And no village, town or city has stories to tell without the people who live in them. So the book is more about people than places, stories and dramas more than buildings and bridges. There will be no litanies of yawn producing facts and dates because, it is the tales of the people, past and present, that will provide the tapestry and the texture of the story.
The Thai language edition will be far more than just a courteous translation, because the richness lies in the stories of all the people who have lived here in the past and who live here now.
Who will it be for?
Residents, visitors, loved ones back home, anyone who has an interest in Bang Saray.
As well as being a must-have for the local residents' bookshelves or coffee tables,it will be crafted to bring pleasure and understanding to visitors, holiday makers and people back home who often ask that incredibly difficult question to answer; what is Bang Saray really like?
The writing will be affectionate, warm and aimed not just those of us who love the village, but those who surely will do so once they have been here.
It's a book for all people at all levels.

As you can see in this short video the layout is accessible and very easy to read while still being information rich.
The number of pages hasn't been settled yet, but the book will be in the region of 100 plus pages.
There will be two formats: hard and soft cover,which will be the same for both the Thai and the English language editions
Can I get updates on the book’s progress?
Yep. The Bang Saray Book Facebook group is the place where that all happens: posts about how the book is going, ‘behind the scenes’ info, questions asked and answered and lots more. This a members only group that focus on Bang Saray as its sole topic, so there are no posts that are irrelevant and just annoying clutter.
